Jay Weisleder

Born in San Jose, Costa Rica Jay Weisleder started his career in the entertainment industry while working at Sony Music Latino (2003/digital marketing manager and artist relations) in Miami. At Sony, he worked closely with many established, and rising musicians. Weisleder also produced and promoted many live concerts events (Warner Music/Columbia/Sony in 2004-2006), but later transitioned into television while working at Telemundo’s bilingual cable network as a marketing manager, Mun2 (2006). After Telemundo, Mr. Weisleder turned to his ultimate passion, to develop and produce film and television (2007), which led him to the foundation of Fuego Films; an independent production company focused on exploiting worldwide intellectual property rights through scripted and alternative television and film formats. Through Fuego Films, Mr. Weisleder has worked under various productions overall deal with Electus (2010- 2013) and later Head of Scripted TV at Propagate Content (2016-2019) where he ran the department selling over 40 scripted shows, including currently airing shows such as Blood & Treasure (Co-EP), Charmed, and Broke (Consulting Producer) for CBS. He is also currently in development at NBC on the QUEEN OF FLOW series with WESTBROOK, as well the tv series “SHOW YOURSELF” with Amblin TV, and DEAD STOCK with PARAMOUNTTV.

Weisleder produced (2016) the feature film “Hands of Stone”, the biopic of Roberto Duran starring Robert De Niro, Usher and Edgar Ramirez, as well as the Imagen Award Nominated film “My Boyfriend’s Meds” (2020) with Pantelion Films (Lionsgate) a romantic comedy set in Latin America starting Jaime Camil, Jason Alexander, Brian Baumgartner, and Brooke Shields.

Weisleder is currently developing feature films “Clemente”, the Roberto Clemente biopic with TETON RIDGE, “FRANKL”, the biographical story of Viktor Frankl, the man who wrote the best-selling memoir “Man’s Search for Meaning”.

Mr. Weisleder is also currently is under a production partnership with LIT ENTERTAINMENT GROUP.

Jay Weisleder has a bachelor degree in Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA in Marketing and Entertainment degree from University of Miami. Mr. Weisleder is a member of the Producers Guild of America (P.G.A); he lives in Studio City, California with his wife, three sons, and their two dogs.
